Wave Hub construction underway
The construction of the Wave Hub has started on November 16th and is foreseen to be operational next year. The project aims to construct the world’s largest commercial wave farm 10 miles off the north coast of Cornwall and will develop a the marine energy industry in the South West. The Wave Hub counts with £42 million of funding from SWRDA, the European Regional Development Fund Convergence Programme and the Department of Energy and Climate Change.
Guy Lavender has been appointed as General Manager for the Wave Hub project. Mr. Lavender will join the Wave Hub delivery team in January, and will be responsible for leading the safe and efficient operation of the Wave Hub. One of the first tasks will be reinforcing the structure of the operations team and recruit additional specialist staff. A new office will also be set up in Hayle. For more information, click here.
