Training in Cornwall on how to help people in recession times
On 16 December, Unionlearn Cornwall organised a one-day training session on how to provide support to people suffering from the current economic recession. The training, funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), aimed in particular to help union representatives to identify people’s problems and help them solving them.
The event included keynote speeches from John Ede (Partnership Manager for Cornwall’s Citizens Bureau), Crystal Pearce (Chief Executive of Relate Cornwall) and Cliff Paul (counseling lecturer for the University of Plymouth). The training was part of the South West’s CRUNCH (Countering Recession through Union Networking, Cooperation and Help), a project launched by the UK Government to promote life training for workers and helping them to progress in their place of work. More information on the event is available on the ESF in England website.
