SW Territorial Cooperation Group Climate Change Workshop
On 4 December, the South West Territorial Cooperation Group is organising a workshop to focus on Climate Change and the potential for projects in this field. Jointly organised by the SWUKBO, the Environment Agency and the SWRDA, this workshop is an opportunity for people in the South West region to come together to develop project ideas in the field of Climate Change, as well as meet potential partners with which to discuss these projects and how to move them forward.
The workshop will begin with a quick overview of EU Territorial Cooperation Programmes and how they can be useful to develop projects and partnerships, followed by a breakout session to develop project ideas under the subthemes of:
• Coastal Protection
• Development of Green Technologies
• Greening Businesses
• Skills for Climate Change
There will be networking opportunities during the coffee and lunch breaks, as well as a breakout session to further develop the EU dimension of the projects discussed earlier, and to ensure that they adhere to the required TC priorities. Who should attend this event? The session is relevant to local authorities, Universities and any organisations in the South West region that would have an interest in developing projects on the above themes or that focus on low carbon and climate change issues.
This workshop is the first in a series of themed workshops aiming to bring together potential partnerships under the Territorial Cooperation programmes. The next workshop on the theme of culture and heritage will be held in the first few months of 2010. For more information please contact Clare Breen
