Somerset County Council hosts EU Workshop

On 18 May, Somerset County Council (SCC), in collaboration with the South West UK Brussels Office (SWUKBO), held a workshop exploring how SCC can use European opportunities to support delivery of the Authority’s priorities.

The SWUKBO presented an overview of key European initiatives in relation to energy, environment, business growth and culture. Participants then identified key actions of benefit to their work, including learning from nuclear energy developments elsewhere in Europe and activities to support enterprise in Somerset.

The event generated positive feedback and SCC now plans to hold further thematic sessions in 2010/11, maximising SCC’s awareness and uptake of relevant European opportunities.
