Gloucestershire’s successful Adult Education Service Bid

Gloucestershire’s Adult Education Service has been awarded a Leonardo da Vinci Partnership grant for improving self-employment skills for disabled people through social enterprise. The project aims to set up a web based toolkit showcasing good practice and, drawing on partners’ experiences, flag up tips and pitfalls for others to share. The project will include partners in Sweden, Germany, Turkey, Spain and Italy.
The bid originates from a curtain raising project called ‘Life Chances’ where partners from Gloucestershire studied supported employment models in Aachen (Germany), Adana (Turkey) and Vasteras (Sweden). Gloucestershire’s Adult Education is also hosting a study visit next May, as part of another EU Lifelong Learning project, when 13 EU participants from all over Europe will visit Gloucestershire for a week, for learning about Gloucestershire’s innovative initiatives in using IT in adult and community learning.
