Bristol-based transport research project seeks further collaboration in FP7

The Bristol-based transport research consultancy Transport and Travel Research Ltd has carried out a research project, funded under the FP6-SUSTDEV programme, looking at ways to improve urban transport practices. It aimed to promote and support more efficient ways of pricing road usage in urban areas. The effectiveness and acceptability of Road User Charging (RUC) was looked at in detail, and it was found that RUC was effective in cutting traffic and therefore pollution. More research was needed into the issues of acceptability by users. To this end, Transport and Travel Research Ltd are seeking collaboration for further research or development support on this issue, potentially within the FP7 Programme.
