B&NES Council hosts EU Masterclass
On 8 April, the South West UK Brussels Office and Bath & North East Somerset Council organised an EU Masterclass in order to set out the wide range of funding opportunities that are available from Europe. Geared around the priorities contained in the Bath & North East Somerset Sustainable Community Strategy, this event was an opportunity to find out about the specific funding streams that could help to make the priorities set out in the strategy a reality.
The event opened with an introduction to Europe and why it is important to local authorities in the South West, as well as an overview of the SWUKBO itself, followed by a series of different European funds being introduced in relation to the specific local prioirities named in the Sustainable Community Strategy. The event ended with a number of parallel workshops, during which delegates were encouraged to use the previous information to note potential projects ideas that could apply for support from a European programme.
The event is the latest in a series of EU Masterclasses that the SWUKBO has organised for its partners since 2007.
